In this eBook with 94 pages we show you the basics of wireless communication with the systems RFID, Bluetooth, WLAN as server and client as well as GPS. These techniques are used in IOT (Internet Of Things) or Smart Home and this is also the motivation for this eBook. Our eBooks are practice-oriented and we work with examples of real hardware. And here is only ARDUINO and the ESP8266 or nodeMCU. nodeMCU

We start with the Shield RFID for ARDUINO and show how to read and evaluate the data. Of course, in each chapter we show the basics of the corresponding techniques in a nutshell. With the RFID example, you could build an electronic on/off switch.

With Bluetooth Shield from ARDUINO we communicate with a smartphone. From the smartphone, we send information to the Bluetooth Shield. For example, you can switch the light on/off in the garage or on the terrace with mobile phone.

With the WLAN module ESP8266 (or nodeMCU) we will communicate with the WLAN in the Internet. Once, as a server, we supply a web page that allows you to turn on an LED on the ESP8266 from a browser.

With the client ESP8266, we cyclically send data to a cloud (Thigspeak.com) and display the data in diagrams (big data). The data is still processed with MATLAB offline (mean value). All WLAN examples with ESP8266 are also programmed with ARDUINO.

In the last chapter, we will show you how to use ARDUINO and a GPS-shield to receive data about your position, speed, time, date and even more worldwide.
